The History of Blues Music: Part 3
Blues music took off. People in the music industry began to notice the Blues performers and their songs. More songs were made public and more songs were written. The record and sheet music companies began to market Blues music. Blues became so popular that a lot of music was released with the word Blues in the title that were not actually Blues. As the listeners increased the Blues became to be considered more middle of the road. People could go out and hear Blues music in places that would have never promoted that style of music before.
The History of Blues Music: Part 1
As noted in earlier posts, Blues music as ben a major influence on the development of many other types of music. It seems that one major influence on the creation of the Blues was the hard life that arose from hardships experienced by African-Americans in the Mississippi Delta at the beginning of the 20th Century. The field workers used work shouts that involved a call and response type of rhythm that evolve into the early Delta Blues. Jazz, Rock and Roll, and Country Music are some of the styles that reveal their Blues influence. Read more
