The UV Race- Homo ALBUM REVIEW
Listen: http://theneedledrop.com/2011/04/the-uv-race-girl-in-my-head/
On their sophomore album, Australia’s the UV Race brings garage rock to a dirtier and grimier level than most. The band’s loose song structures and loose playing bring a lot of, well, “character” to these recordings. There are flubbed notes everywhere, and it’s all for the sake of sounding noisier.
Chaos within limits is the name of the game on Homo, and I’ll be dammed if these guys didn’t make sounding messy feel fun as hell!
There’s an obvious Velvet Underground influence flowing throughout this. A lot of these tracks feel like abridged versions of the song “Sister Ray,” but there’s also a lot of love if you’re more of a fan of the Fall or the Stooges.
It’s a raw, loud mess, but I’m too busy dancing to clean it up.
What do you think of this album? Do you love it? Do you hate it? Whyyyy? What should I review next, eh?

The History of Blues Music: Part 2
The Blues sub-genre sometimes referred to as Country Blues was a reflection of the lives of the people in the rural South. The ex-slaves were no longer under the legal ownership of the rich farm owners but they were just as much under their control. Sharecroppers found it hard to break even and rarely made enough money to get ahead financially. The music they developed in the Mississippi Delta is often referred to as “Delta Blues.” Many people who were fortunate to have been trained on musical instruments found life to be better traveling from community to community performing songs that focused on a better life, sex, love, and life’s trials. Most of the early musicians were men.
How can I convert my piano music into sheet music on my laptop to print off?
Ok. Is there anything I could possibly hook up to my piano or even a type of microphone or any type of technology out there where I can record my music I play on my piano and then it will convert it to music notes on music sheet paper through my laptop? I know I’ve seen it and movies and probably recording studio where they play the piano and the music notes appear on the computer screen on sheet music.
there is a program called cake walk and you have to buy a keyboard, hook it up to your laptop, and when u play, the notes appear on the screen. Also i could reccomend Finale. the downside is that calk walk is about $400.
Trying to figure out a certain country/blues song?
i saw it the other morning on vh1. the music video had a guy with medium length hair and facial hair and im pretty sure the girl was blonde. the music video was all in black and white and it was country but had a more blues/folk feel to it

Can anyone suggest some old blues artists to listen to?
Sounds like robert johnson, Blind jefferson, John lee hooker etc. From the 20′s, 30′s and 40′s.
Thanks!
Some lesser known names-
What are the relationships between the notes of the blues scale?
I have been playing guitar for about 3 years now. However, I just started getting into music theory about a year ago. I think that if I could figure out or get some help figuring out the relationships between the notes in the blues (or pentatonic) scale that it would allow me to connect some of the other ideas that I have already learned and thus further my knowledge and help in my playing.
Recently set off a debate about the modes of the pentatonic fid in resolved questions.
anyone else like "theneedledrop"’s album reviews on youtube?
i’ve learned of a lot of bands from that guy. he reviews some albums by bands/musicians i would never, ever get into, but he’s also reviewed some other badass bands’ albums.
HELL YEAH I DO!
