Willie Brown
It appears that there may have been at least two Delta Bluesmen named Willie Brown. We do know that there was a Willie Brown that was a guitar player and is credited with writing the song ” Mississippi Blues.” The movie “Crossroads” with Ralph Machio describes him as a harmonica player and it is possible that he was.
Would taped music be a good option for me?
I love to sing and play music. I can’t find anyone to get into a band with. All my friends are either in bands or talentless. So would it be a good idea to record the music and sing live with taped music. Would this be a good idea and is it common? Does it depend on the music?
The disadvantage of playing with a tape recorder or something like that is that it looks boring – only one person to look at it. You gotta be extra entertaining. Second is, for guitarists especially, is what are you going to do for rhythm? The two options i’ve seen are a drum machine or a laptop. The laptop is more expensive but you can literally record a full CD quality backing track. Unfortunately, the quality of your sound is completely dependent on house speakers… which could be a bad thing. The best way to go would be getting a rack setup, where you can plug your laptop into… but it would mean a mixer or preamp (virtualizer, perhaps), a power amp, and possibly other effects, too (EQ, compressor, vocal processor, etc).
varsity blues movie country song in background?
in the scene when billy bob meets with coach kilmer. kilmer calls billy fat and lazy. any way there is a country song in the back ground playing, the only words i can make out are "pain just dont explain the way the hurtin’ feels running through the veins" it sounds like ricky skaggs but also kinda sounds like clay walker. anybody know what song this is? and who sings it?
Then you can use this link to read the lyrics of the songs in the soundtrack

What ever happened to the Chunky Rhythm and Blues Festival in Chunky, Mississippi and who all played there?
How many years did it run? I remember going when I was younger and the sign is still up in Chunky Mississippi on Chunky-Duffee Rd, I cannot find any info on the net anywhere. Thanks in advance if you have any info.
I live in the Jackson area, and it’s been awhile since I’ve heard anything about Chunky. I mean, the town is still there but I guess the festival just died out. Easy to get there from here, too, right along Interstate 20.
What are some great blues artists/bands?
I want to get into blues and I was wondering what are some good blues artists to get me started. So far I like R.L. Burnside, The Black Keys, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, and Buddy Guy.
Those are some great artists already listed! some to add your list! Robert Johnson – “The King of the Delta Blues Singers” Yes, the blues would not be what it is today without Robert Johnson. His legendary recordings have been rerecorded and reworked by many high profile guitarists including Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. All those classics such as, “Crossroads”, “Traveling Riverside Blues”, “Malted Milk”, and “Walking Blues”, were all written by Robert. If you’re not familiar with Robert Johnson’s work, get familiar and start learning what the blues is really about.
Albert King – SRV’s biggest influence had a stinging vibrato, and guitar licks that hit you over the head like a ton of bricks. Just check out “Born under a Bad Sign” if you want to hear where Clapton got some of his licks from.
Elmore James – If there was no Elmore, then there would have been no Duane Allman. Elmore’s slide classics such as “Dust my Blues”, and “Blues Before Sunrise” have defined him as an innovator of the electric slide guitar. The Allman Brothers Band covered many of Elmore’s legendary hits such as “Done Somebody Wrong”, and “One Way Out”. Duane was totally fascinated by Elmore James, and with good reason. His songs are what electric slide blues is all about. Anyone interested in learning slide guitar needs to check out his legendary blues guitar style. John Lee Hooker – simply the king of the boogie ,copied by ZZ Top,Canned Heat;Rolling Stones, the list goes on and on. Ligthnin Hopkins – a major influence on Stevie Ray Vaughan,Jimi Hendrix and Texas Bluesin General. Muddy Waters – The Godfather of the Blues,No Muddy Waters,No Rock and roll as we know it.
Is Bell Bottom Blues by Derek and the Dominos one of the saddest songs ever?
Consider the backdrop at the time, with Eric Clapton’s love unrequited, thus leading him to write Bell Bottom Blues. The song is just stunning, better than Layla, although I used to think different i’ve now come to my senses. However, everytime I listen to it, while thinking of the situation in which it was written, it breaks my heart and I well up. Is it one of the best blues songs ever?
Just another song he wrote because he couldn’t get hold of Patti Boyd…I would never call it a blues song either…
Do you know a web site other than amazon where i can post free album reviews without having to buy first?
I thinks craigslist is what your’re looking for
or the AyosDito.ph

I can almost see it
That dream I’m dreaming but
There’s a voice inside my head sayin,
You’ll never reach it,
Every step I’m taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high
There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what?s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
The struggles I’m facing,
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes they knock me down but
No I’m not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I’m going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on, cause
There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I’m going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It’s all about
It’s all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith
